Trends for Landscaping

Spring is just around the corner, and as you look outside waiting for the gardening season to start I thought I would take this opportunity to share a few of the trends emerging for our outdoor spaces.

1 – Creating Outdoor Rooms. Creating outdoor rooms allows you to use your space in a way that makes sense for your family. Outdoor kitchens, lounge areas and recreation spaces allow you to create a unique space for your family.

2 – Clean Lines. Strong clean lines for a more contemporary look are very popular going into 2016, and work very well with many of the new stone styles.

3 – Outdoor Fireplaces. The addition of outdoor fire features brings a new element to your outdoor living space and lengthens the time of year you can enjoy your new found space.

4 – Vegetable Gardens. More and more people are growing their own produce as they become conscious as to where their food comes from.

5 – Living Walls. Gardening is just done on the horizontal anymore, grow your garden up! Living walls can be both decorative and functional (so go ahead and start growing your veggies on the wall!)

6 – Creating Privacy. Your yard probably lacks one thing, privacy. Creating privacy can be done in so many creative ways from the use of screens to planting of trees selected for your site. We want to create spaces that are comfortable to be lived in.
